"The Lesotho Mounted Police Service questioned the husband who showed them the lifeless body of the wife in the boot of the vehicle."
A body of a Free State Magistrate was found in the neighbouring Lesotho after she was reported missing on Thursday (21/9).
Regional Court Magistrate Mamello Thamae's (40) body was discovered with the help of her husband. However, in a twist of events, the husband was later arrested by the police and detained in Lesotho awaiting extradition back to South Africa.
Police spokesperson Lorraine Earle told OFM News the husband of the late magistrate is likely to face charges of kidnapping and murder. Earle said the investigation into the matter continues.

"The vehicle was traced in Lesotho at a guesthouse in Mokgotlong. The Lesotho Mounted Police Service questioned the husband who showed them the lifeless body of the wife in the boot of the vehicle.
The police in the Free State launched a search for the magistrate and her husband, who were earlier reported missing from Heilbron, Earle said.
It is alleged on Thursday 21 September 2023, Thamae arrived at her home in Heilbron. At about 04:00 the following morning (22/9), the car allegedly left the premises.
Earle said the cell phone and clothes of her husband also appeared to be missing. Her clothes and cell phone were still at home and there is a strong suspicion that the vehicle drove through the Ficksburg Port of Entry into Lesotho.
This is a developing story.
