Moral Regeneration Movement appalled after Hilton Pretorius died─── HEIDRÈ MALGAS 14:02 Thu, 21 Sep 2023
"Violence is never the solution."
Hilton Pretorius (32) died after he had been assaulted in a parking lot in Doringkruin, Klerksdorp, earlier this month. The Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM) responded in shock to his death.
The MRM Provincial Interim Committee's Convenor, Pastor Lesiba Kgwele, expressed his condolences to the Pretorius family, branding the incident that claimed their son's life as tragic and emotionally devastating.
"If the suspect were allowed to move freely in society and only charged with murder at his court appearance on 19 October it would be a serious miscarriage of justice."
He said the brutal assault not only shattered the lives of two young men tangled in a love triangle with Natasha Fisher but also impacted PW Roos, who was among the men reportedly attacked by an infuriated Wernich Botha on the scene.
Roos needed 17 stitches and suffered a concussion and shoulder injuries after being knocked down by Botha's punch.
"Violence is never the solution. As we strive to restore community moral values mentioned in the Charter of Positive Values, promoting fidelity and opposing mindless violence, including aggressive and disrespectful behavior, are essential."
