Shots were fired between the suspects and the police, in which one of the police officers and one of the robbers were shot.
An investigation is underway by the Free State Police and Loch Logan Waterfront Mall following a business robbery at one of their stores on Sunday evening (3/9).
The Waterfront’s marketing manager, Meryl Henning, confirmed to OFM News that Woolworths was robbed on Sunday evening. “As per security protocol, the Mall's parking entrances were locked down and SAPS were alerted.” As the suspects attempted to escape the mall after the robbery, they forced a guard at gunpoint to open an entrance.
Shots were fired between the suspects and the police, in which one of the police officers and one of the robbers were shot. As the robbers were trying to escape through the mall, one of the shoppers attempted to assist in apprehending them, however, he got lightly injured.
OFM News awaits a reply from the police to establish if anyone has been arrested and whether there have been any deaths.

OFM News previously reported the police in the Free State barricaded the roads leading to Bloemfontein’s biggest mall, the parking areas and entrances into the mall. This follows after allegations that there was a robbery at a well-known store inside the mall.
