The launch is expected to take place at 13:00, at the Edenhoogte Primary School, Edenberg, in the Xhariep District. The Provincial Education spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, said the book launch emanates from the presidential book launch in partnership with the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), National Basic Education Department, and other civil society organisations.

NECT is an organisation dedicated to strengthening partnerships within civil society and between civil society and government in order to achieve the country's national goals for basic education. It is dedicated to supporting and influencing the agenda for the reforming of education.

The launch is expected to be attended by officials, learners, community members, stakeholders from the business sector, publishers, and writers.

“The MEC Book Club will serve as the provincial coordinating structure, where all reading initiatives and interested stakeholders can come together to share knowledge and successful learning experiences.”

Ndaba said the first book which will be reviewed after the launch, is of a Free State female writer, Rethabile Lenkoe, titled “The Mirror”. This, after adding the book club will be launched during Women's Month, which will be celebrated under the theme: 'Accelerating Socio-Economic Opportunities for Women’s Empowerment'.

Ndaba encouraged community members to join the book club. He said details of how to join will be shared after the launch.
