Nama Khoi suffered R110 million infrastructure damage after floods─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:00 Tue, 18 Jul 2023
The Nama Khoi Local Municipality in the Northern Cape says the recent floods caused millions of damages to roads and infrastructure.
The damage to roads and infrastructure in the municipality is an estimated R110 million.

The municipality's spokesperson, Jason Milford, revealed that machinery has been deployed to ensure the accessibility of the private access road.
This is to enable motorists to travel from Buffelsrivier, Komaggas, and Kleinsee.
He says this development allows for safe passage, allowing motorists to cross onto the R355 road but motorists are advised to exercise caution as the river is still flowing.

"In related news, the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) has informed us that the N7 section 8, stretching between Steinkopf (north of Springbok) and the Vioolsdrift border post, is open to traffic. This section was severely damaged during the recent flood, but Sanral is attending to the necessary repairs to ensure the safety of commuters."
Milford said the municipality and the local community continue to face the tragedy caused by the recent flood.
