The North West premier is said to be recovering well after being hospitalised.
Premier Bushy Maape was recently hospitalised and underwent a "minor orthopaedic procedure", according to his office.
His spokesperson, Sello Tatai, said Maape was admitted to Wilmed Park Hospital in Klerksdorp and the surgery was successful. Tatai said Maape is recuperating well and the doctors are happy with his recovery.
"Members of the Executive Council and the Office of the Premier have sent their well wishes to Premier Maape, who is due to resume his normal official schedule in the coming week," Tatai added.
