Ottosdal shutdown protest over R507 project continues – VIDEO─── 14:14 Tue, 11 Apr 2023
Disgruntled group community members of Letsopa near Ottosdal in North West continue their protest over the R507 road project.
Traffic has been affected since 04:00 with the intersection that leads to the township barricaded with stones and other objects.
Workers are also not allowed to access the central business area and only essential workers are allowed to go to their workplace.
EFF member Kgauwe Nthaudi told OFM News that they are 100% behind the protest, citing it is concerning relevant issues.
Letlhogonolo Motji from the Forum 4 Service Delivery says he has been in contact with individuals from the office of the North West Department of Public Works, of MEC Saliva Molapisi, but they only want to come to address them tomorrow.
Motji says as long as their demonstration is peaceful, they will ensure that traffic remains blocked until the government intervenes.
