Free State health department welcomes 21 Good Friday babies─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 11:03 Fri, 07 Apr 2023
Twenty-one Good Friday babies have thus far been born in the Free State.
Mondli Mvambi, Department of Health spokesperson, said MEC Mathabo Leeto welcomed 13 girls and eight boys at provincial public health facilities this morning.
The first recorded birth was a baby girl born at Winburg Hospital at 00:10, followed by another baby girl at 04:40 at the same hospital.
At Mafube Hospital in Frankfort a baby girl was born at 00:25.
Bongani Regional Hospital in Welkom welcomed four babies. Three girls were born at 01:51, 05:10, and 06:10 respectively, while the baby boy was born at 05:50.
Furthermore, at Katleho Hospital in Virginia a boy was born at 02:50.
Pelonomi Tertiary Hospital in Bloemfontein accounted for two births: a boy at 01:15 and a girl at 04:04.
At Universitas Academic Hospital, five babies were born. One baby girl was born at 00:39, while two sets of girl twins were born at 01:50 and 02:00. This is while another set of twins was born at 04:38 and 04:39, a baby boy and baby girl.
Meanwhile, the MUCPP in Bloemfontein welcomed two baby boys born at 05:41 and 06:36. There was one baby boy born at Tokollo Hospital in Heilbron at 05:10.
At Fezi Ngubentombi Hospital in Sasolburg, two babies - a baby boy born at 02:30 and a baby girl born at 02:40.
Lastly, Albert Nzula District Hospital in Tompsburg welcomed one baby girl who was born at 07:56.
