Tswaing's mayor Nora Mahlangu has arrived to address angry residents protesting in Ottosdal in the North West, as the R507 road remains blocked.
The situation is tense as Mahlangu answers concerns and questions from the protesters, with the gathering taking place at the intersection leading to the township.

Mayor Mahlangu is pleading with the residents to have a follow-up meeting tomorrow to address pressing matters, but the group is demanding that the situation be attended to immediately.

One of the leaders, Lazer Senatle, said they aren't happy with the appointment of the community liaison officer. However, Mahlangu said she cannot make a commitment on the matter at present.
It is unclear when the protest will end. The group demands that the hiring process must be done from scratch.
