ANC MP accused of murder to apply for bail─── LUCKY NKUYANE 06:39 Fri, 27 Jan 2023
The ANC Member of Parliament (MP), accused of murdering his wife, is expected to appear in the Orkney Magistrate's Court in North West on Friday 27 January 2023.
The 34-year-old Sibusiso Kula is expected to apply for bail. He was arrested on Friday 20 January 2023 in Kanana near Orkney outside Klerksdorp for allegedly murdering his 31-year-old girlfriend, and mother of three, Jennifer Motlhomi. Motlhomi was found with a stab wound in her back on 27 November 2022 in what seemed like a robbery. The children, between 18 months and 8 years old, are in the care of relatives.
Kula made his first appearance on Monday on a charge of premeditated murder.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority's spokesperson, Henry Mamothame, the object used in the alleged murder has not yet been recovered.
The state intends to oppose bail, owing to the seriousness of the matter.
"The matter was reported by the accused, who indicated that he was not at the house when the incident occurred. Following thorough investigations by the police, which linked him to the alleged murder, he was arrested on Friday 20 January 2023, and charged with murder.
