The Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, accompanied by the MEC for Education, Zolile Monakali, will announce the 2022 matric results on Friday 20 January 2023 in Kimberley.
This will be done during a press briefing that will be held at the Ministry of Education and will immediately be followed by the Matric Awards Ceremony to acknowledge the province’s top-performing learners.
A total of 13 831 full-time candidates were registered for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations.
"We commend all the learners, parents, principals, invigilators and all the departmental staff for invaluable support and commitment to ensure credible NSC examinations, free from any irregularities," the Office of the Premier's spokesperson, Bronwyn Thomas-Abrahams, and the Department of Education's spokesperson, Geoffrey van der Merwe, said in a joint press release.
A technical report of the overall performance per district and per school will also be made available.
"The Department of Education is also pleased that the marking process was completed under credible conditions. The Quality Assurer, Umalusi, found that we have sound systems in place and the whole examination process was conducted with integrity," Van der Merwe concluded.
