North West Human Settlements appoints new HOD─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 11:19 Sat, 07 Jan 2023
The North West government has officially filled the vacant position for a Head of the Human Settlements Department.
Kgomotso Mahlobo’s appointment follows a recent senior management meeting held in Mafikeng.
Mahlobo replaces outgoing acting HOD James Mashigo.
According to departmental spokesperson, Tumelo Maropeng, Mahlobo’s appointment follows 17 months since the post became vacant after the former HOD’s contract expired. Mashigo held the fort whilst recruitment processes unfolded.
MEC Nono Maloyi has since welcomed the appointment of Mahlobo and called on officials within the department to work well with the new HOD.
Maloyi further said the appointment will bring stability and further fast-track their mandate of delivering houses across the province.
Meanwhile Mahlobo said that her focus is to make sure that all incomplete projects are tackled as well as other backlogs.
She further stated that the narrative and perceptions of the province must change for the better.
