Alternative plans have been made for the residents of the Mathjabeng Local Municipality in the Free State to contact the municipality, should a crisis arise.
According to the Communications Manager for the municipality, Matutle Kgojane, the Acting Municipal Manager, Dr Vuyo Adonis, has made these alternative plans to ensure that service delivery and essential services are uninterrupted during the festive period.
The following officials will be on standby and available on cell phones:

For Fire, Rescue Services, Firecrackers Monitoring & Disaster Management, kindly contact Mr Khuse at 066-4760-325.
For infrastructure challenges (Sewage spillage, water outage, water pipe bursts, electricity and potholes) kindly contact the Acting Executive Director, Thabo Mthombeni, at 081-2732-015, or Senior Manager: Electricity Probe at 067-0165-607.
For reporting vandalism of infrastructure and cable theft, contact Acting Assistant Supt. M. Mogoje at 066-2915-432 or Emergency number 112/10111.

He added that the community must report all forms of vandalism and continue to use water sparingly.
