The Free State High Court dismissed an urgent application by four unhappy ANC Mangaung members who wanted to prevent the party's regional conference.
The conference has since commenced on Friday.

Judge Suzan Boonzaaier rejected the court application on Friday evening around 18:00.
However, in her judgment she reserved the reason why the application was rejected with costs for later.
The group argued that 23 branches in Mangaung had issued disputes with the ANC's provincial dispute resolution committee, but only 3 of them were called by the party's upper structure - the Interim Provincial Committee (IPC).
One of the aggrieved ANC members, Fannie Lelimo, told OFM News that since the dispute resolution committee handed over the complaints to the IPC, the structure has yet to furnish the aggrieved branches with responses.
He adds that they will host their own two-day regional conference to elect their own new leaders.
"We strongly believed the judgment would be in our favour, because we submitted the necessary documentation supporting what we’re alleging," Lelimo adds.
He also explains that 8 branches from the region at some point went to the ANC Headquarters in Johannesburg - Luthuli House - to request an investigation into alleged Branch Biennial General Meeting (BBGM) fraud.
On Friday, the ANC Mangaung Interim Regional Committee (IRC) spokesperson, Ncamisa Ngxangisa, told OFM News that the plan to interdict the conference by the group had always been known to the party.
