North West holds memorial lecture on Che Guevara─── 11:30 Sat, 08 Oct 2022
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the North West will today hold a memorial lecture on Che Guevara.
The event is expected to take place at the Embassy Hall in Mahikeng.
The late Guevara is a known communist who fought against oppressors.
The president of the main opposition party in Botswana and Botswana National Front, Duma Boko, and the Secretary General of SACP, Solly Mapaila, are expected to deliver keynote addresses.
Those who are expected to support the event include alliance partner, the African National Congress (ANC) and the Young Communist League of South Africa.
SACP's secretary in North West, Madoda Sambatha, said unity is key to unite the people of the province.
Sambatha has also previously called upon members to refrain from using money as tools to gain support for positions of power.
The event will be held under the theme of: Socialism is the Future, Build it Now!
