A 42-year-old woman is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 5 October 2022, following her arrest on Tuesday after Interpol issued a warrant for her arrest.
The Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation spokesperson, Christopher Singo, says the suspect will be appearing for the murder case of Eoin O' Connor and Anthony Keegan, who were found murdered in Ireland in 2014.
He explains that there are two suspects in this case - a boyfriend and his girlfriend. According to Singo, the suspects were friends of the deceased and were with them in Ireland at the time of the murder.
“We got information that the suspect is currently located in Bloemfontein. The information is that when they fled from Ireland they fled to South Africa. The other accused was involved in another crime and was arrested. He is serving his sentence in South Africa”.
Singo adds the suspect was arrested in Pellissier, Bloemfontein, after Interpol issued a warrant for her arrest. He says on 28 September 2022, information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts was received, indicating that she was in Bloemfontein. This was after she had been pursued since the time of the murder.
