Free State Government promises opportunities, improvements─── 08:56 Mon, 15 Aug 2022
The Free State Government has committed to launching a service delivery programme on Tuesday, called Operation Phethisa, which is expected to be led by Premier Sisi Ntombela.
The spokesperson in the Office of the Premier, Palesa Chubisi, says the launch will take place at Bobbies Park in Fichardtpark, Bloemfontein. Chubisi says this forms part of the government’s response to tackling the triple challenge of unemployment, poverty, and inequality. She further indicated that various internship programmes of the government, as well as the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) implemented in all five districts of the province, will also be at the centre of this event.
Chubisi explains that this event will run under the banner called Operation Phethisa, which will focus on improving service delivery in the province, and will also be a platform for government to showcase various service delivery initiatives, as a clarion call to fulfil promises made to communities with regards to service delivery. The launch is expected to be held in collaboration with the South African Police Service (SAPS), which will be launching its programme of Operation Phethisa Molao.
The event is scheduled to start at 10:00.
