Dry taps are expected in some parts of Qwaqwa in the Free State as of today.
This follows an inconsistent and lack of power supply that is currently taking place in the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality.
Maluti-A-Phofung Water's (MAP Water) Communication Officer, Kelopile Mongake, told OFM News that, "Another challenge that we are facing is that our entity is currently repairing the standby generator for Makwane Water Treatment Plant".
She adds that water tankers will be dispatched to the affected areas to supply the community with water, until such time that the power supply has stabilised and the repair of the standby generator has been completed.
The affected areas are Makwane, Lusaka, Mphatlalatsane, Metsi Matsho, Comet, Matshekgeng, Phahameng, Tebang, Pereng, Qholaqhwe, Mountain View, Matsikeng and Clubview.
In conclusion, she apologised for the inconvenience caused.
