Battle for NW ANC's top 5 heat up as conference nears─── 16:07 Wed, 15 Jun 2022
The battle for a position in the top five is heating up as the North West ANC provincial conference gets closer.
Members of the party continue to seek support to be elected.
OFM News has learnt that former Revolutionary Council spokesperson, Thato Magogodi, is running for the provincial secretary position. He forms part of the group that wants premier Bushy Maape to be the chairperson.
Both Magogodi and Maape have indicated their availability to stand for the positions. The North West ANC conference is expected to take place at the end of this month in the Bojanala District.
The Revolutionary Council was vocal in the call for the ousting of former North West premier, Supra Mahumapelo.
Speaking to OFM News, a source closer to the group, says Magogodi has established himself very well and stands a good chance.
OFM News has previously reported that Mahumapelo and Nono Maloyi are eyeing the chairperson's seat. It is also said that the former ANC Youth League's national deputy secretary, Kenetswe Mosenogi, is in the race. Magogodi is the current interm regional committee convenor of the ANC in Ngaka Modiri Molema.
