Free State town left dry for days─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 08:00 Tue, 17 May 2022
Ventersburg in the Free State has been without water for nearly a week.
It is alleged that Matjhabeng Local Municipality workers went into Sedibeng Water’s valve chambers in an attempt to fix the water situation at Phomolong in Hennenman, as residents were without water for weeks.
DA Chief Whip in Matjhabeng Municipality, Maxi Badenhorst, explains after the workers did adjustments on that valve, they lost control over it and now Phomolong has water, but Ventersburg does not.
OFM News has sent an enquiry to Matjhabeng Municipality to determine what is the road forward.

This is not the first time Ventersburg residents have been left without water.
OFM News previously reported the town had been without water for for three weeks, and it was only recently that the town started receiving water again. According to a Ventersburg resident, Willie Pretorius, every time they tried to approach the Matjhabeng Local Municipality about the matter, they were given the run-around regarding the reason they struggle to get water.
This problem has made it harder for residents like Pretorius to live normally.
