Community members in Zastron have expressed mixed emotions towards the grade 6 learner's murder on Wednesday. While some sound enraged, others sound sympathetic towards both families.
According to the suspect's uncle, community members from the closer neighbourhoods seem to be much more understanding than those from distant communities. He states that emotions seem to be influenced by how well every individual knew the suspect and his background.

He tells OFM News that the suspect was handed over to the police by him and a close-by neighbour after finding him where he was in hiding. He explains that he was directed to the suspect by community members who were shocked by the incident.

Furthermore, he says that the suspect's parents are in different provinces and are making arrangements to arrive in Zastron by the weekend.
