UFS students protest over issue of allowances─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 15:57 Mon, 04 Apr 2022
Angry students are up in arms over allowances and accommodation issues at the main campus of the University of the Free State (UFS) in Bloemfontein.
One of the students, who wished to remain anonymous, tells OFM News that the protest is based on matters of book and meal allowances. He alleges the institution has not come out to ensure students, who are able to receive those, as the institution is still awaiting NSFAS which is also waiting for Treasury to release funds. He says that the situation is bad as students are currently protesting.
The institution has called the police to deal with students who are currently protesting. He further adds police have allegedly shot two students with stun grenades.
