Mayor to address issue of arrested #Mangaung protesters─── 09:57 Fri, 25 Mar 2022
The Mangaung Mayor, Mxolisi Siyonzana, has pledged to address the issue of Mangaung Concerned Community (MCC) protesters who were arrested at the Bram Fischer Building in Bloemfontein earlier this week.
Siyonzana told OFM News that he is set to meet with members of the MCC to urgently have the imprisoned MCC leaders released from jail. This followed the submission of a memorandum of demands by the Mangaung Service Delivery Forum (MSDF).

Meanwhile, members of MSDF marched to the metro's headquarters in Bloemfontein on Thursday to hand a memorandum of demands to Siyonzana. This comes after OFM News reported that two of the municipality’s refuse removal trucks have been torched.

Both pressure groups took to the streets this week, protesting against mismanagement of the municipality while also demanding that the current municipal council should be dissolved. OFM News previously reported MCC members were arrested after barricading the municipality's headquarters and denying workers entrance to the premises.
