FSPG in talks with MMM over debt─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 07:36 Sat, 12 Mar 2022
The Free State Provincial Government (FSPG) is currently in talks with the Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM) to reach an agreement to end water restrictions at the FSPG’s headquarters, OR Tambo House.
Talk between the two parties come after water restrictions were implemented by the latter, due to failure by OR Tambo House – which houses the office of the Premier, Sisi Ntombela, to settle debt amounting to over R1 billion.
The premier’s spokesperson, Sello Pietersen, told OFM News the provincial government is hopeful that an agreement will be reached soon, as they are dedicated to ensuring service delivery runs smoothly around the metro – which has been under administration since 2019.

The provincial government recently struck a deal with the metro’s power utility, Centlec to ensure the Premier’s office keeps its lights on.
This follows after Centlec threatened to cut power to the building due to an outstanding bill amounting to more than R200 million.
