The frantic search for a missing 4-year-old girl from Thabong township in Welkom continues.

Hlonolofatso Ntherisi was last seen on 5 March in the afternoon by her grandmother in the company of her neighbourhood friends. The 4-year-old had just received food for the evening and was on her way to continue to play with her friends in the area. A search party made up of local residents was formed to look for the girl after her grandmother could not find her in the company of the same group of friends a few hours after she was last seen. Free State police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, tells OFM News Ntherisi was last seen wearing, a black track top, black tights, and no shoes.

Thakeng says “should anyone have information leading to the tracing of this child, Detective Warrant Officer Thwala of Lejweleputswa District FCS can be contacted at 072 834 7293 or Police Emergency number 08600 10111”.

In June 2021, Bokamosho Shabe – a learner at Mmantshebo Primary School in Thabong, aged 8-years-old - was abducted from the school’s grounds and her kidnappers demanded a R50 000 ransom for her safe return.

However the search for Shabe ended in tragedy when her lifeless body was found in the suburb of Riebeeckstad, three days after she went missing. Investigations led to the apprehension of a man and a woman in their forties in connection with the murder.
