FS premier pays emotional tribute to murder victim─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:13 Sun, 13 Feb 2022
Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela, has urged residents to regain and claim their communities from the grasp of criminals.
This follows her visit to the family of a 65-year-old woman who was found murdered in JB Mafora in Bloemfontein.
Ntombela says the victim, who has since been identified as Nomvula Nthabi, was in her home - where she ought to have been safe.
She says the family of the victim has been left with unanswered questions about her death.
Ntombela adds that she trusts law enforcement will work around the clock to bring those responsible for what she terms as “a nauseating crime” to book.
This latest murder is but one of many in a province where women have been brutally killed.
"Where should the vulnerable in our communities seek refuge if they are callously being butchered in their homes? The victim once again was a woman. An elderly woman, who at the ripe age of 65, fell victim to heartless thugs who cruelly, took her life away from her. Nomvula Nthabi was ambushed by a group of criminals in her home, savagely assaulted with what the police believe was a blunt object until her body could not take it anymore, and passed away," Ntombela further adds.
The police recently said they had launched a manhunt for suspects in the murder of the 65-year-old.
