#CUT to address student issues─── 06:54 Fri, 11 Feb 2022
The management at the Central University of Technology (CUT) urges the Student Representative Council (SRC) to provide a list of students that have been affected by the issues they raised in their memorandum.
According to CUT’s Sally Dzingwa, management will investigate the matters raised and work with the SRC to resolve grievances which include registration, outstanding examination marks, and financial matters.
Although the institution has reached its 2022 enrolment target, they would like to assure the public that students remain their top priority. Dzingwa explained students at Bloemfontein Campus have assured management that after handing over the memorandum, access to campus will no longer be disrupted.

Dzingwa, on behalf of management, further stated that all issues that have been raised are receiving their full attention and that they will work closely with student leadership to bring about amicable solutions. “We thank the student leadership representatives for their eagerness to work alongside management in efforts to resolve their serious grievances.”
OFM News previously reported CUT's Bloemfontein campus came to a standstill - just days before the academic year commences. Disgruntled students shut down the campus on Thursday morning. This comes on the heels of an emergency meeting held by the SRC to discuss a way forward concerning the complaints from various students.
Amongst issues that the students have raised in their memorandum to the university, are unblocking all first-year, senior, returning, and postgraduate students and the payment of all allowances before classes commence. The students demand a public official commitment from the university to resolve the issues they have raised by 14 February.
