There is a heavy police presence at the Bloemfontein campus of the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, after irate students had stormed into the university and brought operations to a standstill.
Disgruntled students from the EFF Students Command's (EFF SC) Branch Students Command Team (BSCT) has blocked all students and staff from entering the premises, after they delivered the memorandum of demand to the representatives of the CUT.
OFM News reported that the EFF SC demands include the unblocking of all first-year, senior, returning and postgraduate students and payment of all allowances before classes commence. The students demand an official, public commitment from the university to resolve the issues they have raised by 14 February.
