The Central University of Technology's (CUT) campus in Bloemfontein has come to a standstill just days before their academic year commences.

Disgruntled students from the EFF Students Command's (EFF SC) Branch Students Command Team (BSCT) have barricaded the premises earlier on Thursday morning. This comes on the heels of an emergency meeting held by the BSCT to discuss a way forward concerning the complaints from various students.

Amongst issues that the students have raised in their memorandum to the university, are the unblocking of all first-year, senior, returning and postgraduate students, and payment of all allowances before classes commence. The students demands a public official commitment from the university to resolve the issues they have raised by 14 February.

The management of the university is yet to comment.
