NC MEC gives warm welcome to Christmas babies─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:19 Sun, 26 Dec 2021
The MEC for Health in the Northern Cape has given a warm welcome to newborn babies delivered yesterday across the province.
As of yesterday, around 9 am, at least 11 babies including eight males and three females were born across the province.
The first baby in the province was delivered at Prof ZK Matthews District Hospital in Barkly West, Dikgatlong Local Municipality.
MEC Maruping Lekwene says these babies are special and must be given love.
Meanwhile, OFM Mews reported yesterday that the North West province had seen 43 babies delivered before noon on Christmas day.
The Bojanala District Municipality, which includes Rustenburg, had the most delivered babies with 14 newborn babies which include a set of twins - a boy and a girl. The district municipality saw a total of nine girls and five boys being born before noon.
The second district municipality with the most babies is the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District with 11 newborn babies.
