#MangaungShutdown leaders calls for national intervention─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 07:19 Sun, 10 Oct 2021
MangaungShutdown leaders have called on the national government to intervene during the next meeting to be held at the Free State Premier’s office.
This follows after Mangaung officials requested an extension to finalise the demands of residents, following a meeting held at the premier’s office on Friday. The Chairperson of the Mangaung Service Delivery Forum (MSDF), Potso Motoko, says that government needs to intervene, as they did not get the desired outcome from the meeting. Motoko says people should be held accountable for corruption and nepotism.
“We also expressed our concern that we want them to come down here - the national offices - specifically the small business department and the department of health, because these two offices have failed our people dismally at provincial level. We need them to account for that, and therefore the national office will be required to provide us with that accountability, procedures and all the systems,” says Motoko.
OFM News reported that the Premier’s Office would on Friday meet with #MangaungShutdown leaders to discuss their grievances. The convenor of the Mangaung Service Delivery Forum (MSDF), Tshepo Mojanaga, told OFM News that they will deliberate on issues pertaining to school principals who were hired from outside the province, while there are enough people who are equally qualified for those positions within the province.
