FS Premier reacts to youth unemployment─── LUCKY NKUYANE 11:24 Wed, 16 Jun 2021
The Free State premier, Sisi Ntombela, has reacted to reports that the province has one of the highest rates of youth unemployment in the country.
She says over 41% of the youth remain unemployed and it’s a reality that needs a coordinated and strategic effort to bring to a halt.
Ntombela said this during a stakeholder engagement attended by eight Deputy Ministers and MEC’s in the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality in Bloemfontein on Tuesday 15 June 2021.
The premier conceded that young people continue to bear the brunt of modern-day socio-economic challenges.
“The tripartite evils that continue to haunt society has had the most negative effect on our youth. Over 41% of our youth remain unemployed, a reality that needs a coordinated and strategic effort to bring to a halt,” Ntombela adds.
