Truck drivers injured in Winburg chaos─── 05:34 Wed, 28 Apr 2021

Disgruntled residents of Winburg in the Free State have wrecked three trucks, resulting in their drivers being injured.
One driver is critically injured while another two have been hospitalised with minor injuries.
Monday night's incident follows ongoing protest action by angry residents of Makeleketla in Winburg, who took their grievances to the streets. They barricaded the N1 and Makeleketla Road with burning tyres, rocks and tree branches.
Earlier this month, OFM News reported the unrest led to the torching of a stationary truck, where no injuries were reported.
The residents started protesting following a decision taken by the provincial government to move the visit of president Cyril Ramaphosa to Botshabelo, after it was initially earmarked to happen in Winburg.
Among other reasons stated for why the presidential visit has changed was that there's a high shortage of water in Winburg and the community members could use the event as an opportunity to strike.
