Bfn presenter stabbed multiple times─── LUCKY NKUYANE 05:25 Fri, 12 Feb 2021
A suspect is at large after a popular female Free State radio presenter was found with multiple stab wounds, lying in a pool of blood in Bloemfontein.
Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says the woman, Dimakatso Ratselane, was found covered in blood near a popular tavern at around midnight in the Caleb Motshabi area, popularly known as Dinaweng. He says it is believed that Ratselane and a man very well known to her - and who is now being sought by the police - quarrelled on their way to fetch her children in phase 2.
Makhele says the presenter was discovered by residents and her friends in a critical condition at Dinaweng and was rushed to the Pelonomi Hospital after the police's arrival at around 04:00. The police are investigating a case of attempted murder and have vowed to bring this perpetrator to book.
"It is alleged that Dimakatso Raletsane and the man left her home in Mandela View, travelling to phase 2 where they were to fetch her children," he adds. "Along the way, they allegedly quarrelled and Ratselane was found in a bad state as she could not even speak.
"The hunt for the suspect started immediately. The suspect is at large but it will not be long before he finds himself behind bars," Makhele further says.
Police have since asked anyone who might know the whereabouts of the suspect to contact them.
