#BreakingNews: SA Aviation confirms NW aircraft accident─── LUCKY NKUYANE 14:25 Thu, 04 Feb 2021
The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) has confirmed an accident involving a light aircraft in the Koster region in the North West.
The SACAA spokesperson, Kabelo Ledwaba, tells OFM News an aviation team has already started working on the incident, gathering more information. The accident took place on Thursday morning and authorities are yet to indicate whether there are any casualties. Ledwaba says the Incident Investigation Division in that area in the province was notified of this incident.
“The team has started the process of gathering more information on this matter. Unfortunately, that is all we are able to say at this particular moment,” he adds.
Earlier on, OFM News reported that firefighters of the Koster Fire Department were en-route to the scene to assess the accident. Aafje Botma, North West police spokesperson, at the time confirmed the local police are also heading to the scene. Follow OFM News for this developing story.
