Road accidents claim two lives─── LEATILE LEIEE 11:55 Fri, 30 Oct 2020
The body of a 34-year-old man was found in his car on the side of the road after his car overturned on the R54 Villiers Road in the Vaal Marina.
According to ER24, the body was discovered at about 05:21 on Friday morning, when paramedics attended to the man who was lying inside the car. It is believed that the car overturned and ended up on the side of the road. The man sustained numerous injuries. Upon assessing him, ER24 paramedics said the man showed no signs of life and was thus declared dead on the scene. Further investigations are being conducted.
In another accident, a man was killed, and another left critically injured when their bakkie overturned on the R57 under the R59 bridge at Sasolburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the wrecked bakkie on the side of the road. Two men were found lying next to the vehicle.
Medics assessed the men and found that one had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.
The second man was assessed and found to have sustained numerous injuries and was in critical condition. Paramedics treated the man and provided him with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to a provincial hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
