The Northern Cape Education MEC Mac Jack has died. Premier Zamani Saul made the official announcement Wednesday evening.
Saul said Jack was hospitalised about a week ago after testing positive for Covid-19. He died late Wednesday afternoon at the Mediclinic in Kimberley.
Representatives of the Northern Cape Government are expected to meet with his family on Thursday.
Saul said Jack was expected to make a full recovery. His condition, however, took a turn for the worse and he passed away.
Saul said the government will meet the family to discuss the funeral arrangements.
