The North West High Court in Mmabatho has slapped the 22-year-old Xander Bylsma with two life sentences for the murder of two young girls in Stella near Vryburg.
Bylsma was found guilty of double murder after he killed his ex-girlfriend, Sharnelle Hough (17), and her best friend Marna Engelbrecht (16), in the early hours of 26 May 2018.
Bylsma was arrested in 2018 by the police after the two girls were found to have been strangled to death in the hostel of Hoërskool Stella.
The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Henry Mamothame, confirms that Judge Ronald Hendricks slapped Blysma with two life sentences for the murders. This is a developing story.
