She says that fibre is currently the world’s leading form of internet infrastructure which provides internet “at the speed of light”.

ADSL speed is affected by your distance from the exchange (little structures set up in certain neighbourhoods where connections meet locally) or the number of users connecting to the internet at the same time. LTE speed is affected by external factors such as the weather. However, the use of fibre optic cables to transmit data makes fibre a far more stable and consistent high-speed internet connection.

Caldeira says that fibre installations can take between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the complexity of getting the fibre cable from the boundary wall to where you would like to have the termination box mounted.
