DNA results of missing Kimberley girl’s look-a-like not known yet─── 15:10 Wed, 02 Oct 2019
The DNA results of the Pretoria woman who bears a striking resemblance to the Kimberley girl that went missing nine years ago had not been received by the Kimberley police yet.
This is according to police spokesperson, Dimakatso Mooi, who told OFM News that they are still waiting to receive the results from the laboratory.
OFM News previously reported that a DNA sample was sent in order to determine whether the woman is indeed the missing Rehanna Moshoeshoe. Although there is a backlog at the laboratory, Kimberley police have requested the matter to be prioritised.
This came after a video uploaded on Youtube showed the woman talking about her life on the streets of Gauteng. Social media went into a frenzy speculating that it is Rehanna that is roaming the streets of Gauteng. Soon after, the police warned social media users not to speculate around this matter until the results have been released, as this is a sensitive matter.
Rehanna went missing in 2011 when she was 16 years old. Frans Oliphant, who was linked to her disappearance, was sentenced to 36 years imprisonment in the Northern Cape High Court.
