The water crisis will soon be an issue of the past in Letsopa near Ottosdal in the North West.
This is according to the community liaison officer, Kamogelo Henneck, of the current water project underway in the area. Water shortages have been a major concern for the residents of Letsopa for the past ten years, with some sections not having water at all.
Henneck told OFM News this morning that the project has already completed two of the three phases of the scope of work. One of the two reservoirs is completed and fully functional in supplying water to residents in the central business district.
Long Rock Construction site agent, Gerrie Prinsloo, said the project is 90% complete. He told OFM News that they are hoping to be done by mid-December as they are ahead of schedule. The end term of the contract is March 2020. About six taps will be installed in Iraq informal settlement to ensure that residents do not have to travel to access water.
