Cancer patients’ day at the Klerksdorp Hospital’s cancer ward will tomorrow be brightened when the provincial chairperson of the North West Democratic Alliance Women’s Network, Bea Campbell-Cloete, visit the ward where she will engage with them.

She revealed to OFM News that herself and her daughter are cancer survivors as they were both diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Campbell-Cloete was diagnosed in 2004 and her daughter in 2012 at the age of 19.

She said her visit is just to brighten the day of those diagnosed and give them hope. Campbell-Cloete explained that she also wants to establish what their needs are in order to see where she can assist to make a positive impact. She further stated that women need to reach out to one another.

Campbell-Cloete will also on Friday address gender based-violence victims and other women at the Stilfontein community hall. She concluded saying the Democratic Alliance Women’s Network will try to establish an assistance center for abused women who are afraid to report their cases to the police.
