Freedom Front Plus making inroads in FS, and nationally─── 09:50 Mon, 13 May 2019
The Freedom Front Plus in the Free State had garnered 4,1% of votes and almost doubled their support.
These votes can be attributed to extensive groundwork they did ahead of the elections, according to FF Plus National Youth Leader, Tammy Wessels.
Wessels says even though they did not do that well in the last election in 2014, they have, however, been consistent since the first election in 1994.
She says they have emerged as one of the small parties performing well in the 2019 general election.
According to her voters are slowly starting to believe in their policies because they are not scared to be vocal about what they believe in.
The party had only one seat in the provincial legislature after the 2014 elections.
Wessels says they are going to work around the clock to make sure they grow their support both provincially and nationally.
She added that they had seen significant growth in the party and were excited about it. The party will have one seat in the Provincial Legislature. The FF Plus previously had four seats in the National Assembly and this had increased to ten seats after this election.
