MEC Makgoe welcomes, encourages learners at hard working school─── SAZLY HARTZENBERG 10:01 Wed, 09 Jan 2019
The MEC of Education, Tate Makgoe, visited Kgato Primary School in Rocklands at Bloemfontein this morning, where he handed over a mathematics kit to the school in order to help them improve the mathematics skills of all their learners.
Makgoe thanked the staff of Kgato Primary school for all their hard work over the years. He encouraged them to carry on to support learners and to invest in them as they are the future of this country. He also emphasised the importance of teachers and parents working together to ensure the success of learners.
According to the MEC, he chose this primary school because they have been working hard and he is hoping to give them a stable foundation to start off the new academic year.
Public schools countrywide reopened this morning after a successful 2018 school year for the province. The Free State was the second-best performing province in the 2018 matric results, which were released last week.
