OFM Business Hour: Podcasting a key marketing tool for businesses─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 16:31 Fri, 13 Jan 2023
Podcasts are being viewed as an important tool for people to build their businesses and brands.
The growing number of people who consume content through podcasts is one of the reasons why Vuyo November, who is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Casalena Group, decided to start his own podcast. He believes the podcast called “21st century millionaire” will contribute positively to his own brand and the brand of his business. “People usually take you seriously if they can hear your thoughts on particular issues, especially the ones that are happening within your industry,” says November.
He explains that although he bought equipment to start his podcast, he advises people to start their own podcast whether they have equipment or not. “Not having proper equipment should not stop people from doing podcasts, they use earphones and maybe a laptop to kick it off and once they are in a better financial position to buy equipment, they can do so.” He says he bought the equipment because he wanted his podcast to look and sound as good as possible so he can give his audience a great experience. One other important thing that he believes will help people grow their podcasts quicker is regularly having guests, this way the audience will get different views on different topics – having influential guests will get more people to listen.
“This podcast is about building financial freedom in the 21st Century,” says November when explaining why he decided to name his podcast “21st century millionaire”.
November, who also happens to be the author of The Rat Race: Escaping Life’s Financial Trap, says he cannot wait to see how the next generation will consume content because his parents are still consuming content through radio, and most of his generation consume content through podcasts.
