Police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo, told OFM News that Els was arrested after she allegedly advertised a training course for rangers on Facebook. He went on to say the complainant deposited an amount of R10 000 into a bank account belonging to Els. The course was then cancelled but no money was refunded, even after it was promised.

OFM News asked Els to comment, and she replied by saying her case will be heard on August 15 and that she will not comment before then. She says matters must be handled through her lawyer.

Els appeared in the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Friday and was released on free bail.

The story has social media going crazy, as people are reacting with harsh comments such as “Boer soek geld” and “Boer soek bail”.

She will again appear in court on August 15, 2018, as further investigations are being conducted.
