The Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, is expected to be in the City of Roses on Saturday, 21 December 2019.

Cele's visit to Bloemfontein in the Free State forms part of his nationwide tour to assess the impact of the South African Police Service's (SAPS) safer festive season operations.

It is expected that Cele will make an appearance at Hoffman Square at 8:00 am where he will address the locals. He will later move to other parts of the city, including the taxi rank, CBD, Lemo- and Mimosa Mall, as well as the N8 road between Botshabelo and Bloemfontein.

Cele will be joined by the top management of the South African Police Service and the MEC of Police, Roads and Transport in the Free State, Sam Mashinini.

Cele is furthermore expected to inspect police operations, multi-disciplinary roadblocks and assess safety plans in order to ensure residents and holidaymakers in the province feel safe during the holiday season.

OFM News previously reported that Cele visited Rustenburg in the North West on Thursday, 19 December 2019 where various suspects were arrested during roadblocks on the N4.  He was also joined by SARS officials and Veterinarians, amongst others.
