#SchoolViolence: Memorial service held for Koffiefontein learner─── LUCKY NKUYANE 15:00 Tue, 22 Oct 2019

Students in Koffiefontein held a memorial service at a multi-purpose community centre for the slain 16-year-old Lungelo Khathane who was killed by a fellow pupil last week.
Khathane’s uncle, Sello Motswahae, tells OFM News that Reikaeletse Secondary School pupils, and his rugby and volleyball teammates arranged the service to honour his memory.
He died in Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein last week after he was stabbed on Tuesday outside the school premises.
Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, previously told OFM News that the 16-year-old accused remains in custody at the Grootvlei Prison’s juvenile section, 'till his next court appearance later this week. Makhele said the minor’s case was postponed to provide him with an opportunity to obtain legal counsel.
On Sunday, residents held a prayer session at Diamanthoogte Combined School to pray for both the family of Khathane and the accused. Community leader and pastor, Simon Khomojong, described the incident as the work of the devil. He said as such the residents prayed for both families. Khomojong said the incidents have left residents shocked and heartbroken.
