Prisoners attribute good behaviour to their success─── LUCKY NKUYANE 15:39 Thu, 03 Oct 2019

The inmates at the Tswelopele Correctional Facility Centre attribute love, humility and strong family bonds to their tremendous achievement after scooping 34 awards at the Correctional Services Department's competition in George in the Western Cape.
A member of the Tswelopele Inmate Book Club, Tshiamo Ngakaemang, says what inspired their performance at this competition was also drawn from their hard work, team spirit and love shared amongst each other.
He says after he was arrested at least five years ago and later transferred to this centre, he felt the sense of humility and love while they as inmates were trying to self-correct their history and the mistakes they made.
Ngakaemang, who is left with just seven months before being eligible to be released on parole, attributes a good behaviour as the key to their success.
At least 50 inmates from different regions in the country, which include the Goedemoed, George and Kroonstad Facility Centres, are being congratulated by the department today.
The regional spokesperson for the department, Puleng Mokhoane, previously told OFM News that the inmates attained position 1 and scooped 34 trophies in all competitions, which included, amongst others, debating and the Spelling B.
She added that as an appreciation to all this, the department will today hold a congratulatory lunch for the offenders in the Tswelopele Correctional Centre in Kimberley.
The Free State and Northern Cape received trophies for Afrikaans, Sesotho and Setswana languages. Mokhoane adds that five book clubs represented the NC Region, namely the Cheetahs, Gemsbok, Literati, Ipeleng and Inkwenkwezi.
