Gospel singer Sechaba Pali, aged 32, pleaded guilty and was found guilty on the 16 October 2013 by the Ladybrand Regional Court for having consensual sex with a minor as per Section 15 subsection 1 of Sexual Offences Act 32 of 2007 on the 18 and 19 January 2012 and was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment wholly suspended.
During early last year the accused had consensual sex with a 14-year-old victim at Tweespruit on the 18 January and also had consensual sex with her the following day on the 19 January at Welkom.
Magistrate J Koekemoer told the accused that his name will be enlisted on the sexual offenders register and he must never work with children in his entire life.

A case of rape was later opened and the accused was arrested and granted bail of R 6 000 after spending seven days behind bars.
His passport was confiscated by the police in the process and given strict conditions.

Mr Pali was further told that in the next five years he must never appear before any court on the same offence.
